Oriental Spectroscopy at the 35th Chinese Chemical Society Congress

Oriental Spectroscopy presented its latest independently developed laboratory X-ray spectrometers and core components at the 35th Chinese Chemical Society Congress. Professor Susumu Kitagawa of Kyoto University, a 2025 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, visited the exhibition and discussed instrument performance and innovation with Chief Scientist Professor Xi Wang of Beijing Jiaotong University and the company’s team.
The RapidXAFS instruments exhibited incorporate independently developed sources, optics and detection systems. RapidXAFS 2D Ultra introduces improvements in photon flux, motion control and measurement modes, supporting simultaneous in situ measurements of two elements.
The high-power rotating-anode source incorporates advances in dynamic high-vacuum sealing and magnetic-fluid technology, supporting brightness and long-term stability. The announcement identifies dependence on imported rotating-anode sources above 6 kW as a major challenge for domestic instrument development.
The original announcement projects a Chinese high-end X-ray source market exceeding RMB 5 billion in 2027, supported by integrated circuits and new-energy batteries. It cites annual instrument demand above 1,000 powder XRD systems, 200 single-crystal diffractometers, 100 laboratory XAFS systems and 200 XPS systems.
Professor Wang described an integrated active spectrum-stabilization system combining spectroscopy with AI-based real-time signal tracking and correction. The system is used in the automated spectrometer shown at the exhibition to improve stability and data quality while simplifying operation.
Professor Kitagawa expressed appreciation for the team’s innovations in laboratory X-ray spectroscopy and encouraged continued development.
At the time of this announcement, Professor Wang reported deliveries exceeding 70 instruments and more than 500 user publications in fields including catalysis and energy. The company plans to continue collaboration between research institutions and industry, improve its products and provide analytical instruments to researchers worldwide.
